This weekend, I dusted off old external hard drives from college. It's been two years since I left Columbia, Missouri, and going down memory lane makes me have all the feelings. Columbia is a special place. Here's a blast from the past, starting with the apartment I called home for more than three years, above.
Parker's 21st, before beers at Flat Branch
Schurz Hall, my dorm freshman year, by Parker
Ninth Street after a storm
Juanita Kwarteng downtown in the snow, on one of the few days Mizzou closed for weather
Rebecca Fels in the Ellis Library stacks
Friends at Pinar's pancake breakfast
Gwen, my cat for a semester while house-sitting for Jackie Bell
Mizzou Magazine co-workers who became great friends
Climbing to the top of Memorial Union with my girl Mary Fama
Nothing more beautiful than a Quad snowfall
That one time I spent $500 at the University bookstore on books.
I spent a whole day with this awesome, local rockstar, Vicci Martinez, for the latest South Sound Magazine. (And my very first South Sound cover!)
Sitting in the back of Vicci's car, she drove Lauren and I around town showing us all of her favorite places. Tacoma makes a stunning backdrop.
After appearing on The Voice and signing a record deal, she's back in her hometown of Tacoma, Washington recording her new album.
Read the interview with South Sound writer Lauren Foster, and listen to her new song!
Design by Kirsten Erwin.
Thanks, Vicci! You rule.
For one more day, you can get 2 years of South Sound for $10 for our Black Friday deal. Expires Dec 5. Sign yourself up here.
The northwest makes the tastiest blueberries. Let's all pretend it's not winter, and we can go u-pick after work today, okay? Okay!
Here are some berries for South Sound Magazine. Can't wait to share more once the article comes out in 2015. These might be the best berries I've ever tasted, grown right here in the Puget Sound.
