after five: tending to my urban garden in west seattle, where i'm growing pink icing blueberries, golden raspberries, holy basil, sweet bell peppers, carolina long slim peppers, and much more. i also spend my weekends testing recipes, roadtripping across the pacific northwest, seeking out taco trucks, and taking on new food & bev clients for content & digital marketing needs.

if i won the lottery: i'd buy & renovate a farm house, with a garden big enough to grow fruits, veggies & raise chickens
giving back: i donate my time by fostering resue cats & kittens in need. i currently work with emerald city pet rescue in the SoDo neighborhood, where i take in cats who would otherwise be put down. i work to socialize them, gain their trust, and give them a safe place to stay until they are adopted. i also work with seattle persian & himalayan rescue, where i'm currently fostering a one-year-old sweet kitty who was rescued on the streets of saudi arabia. she was found injured, had one arm amputated, but is as spunky and happy as ever! 

my story 

When I was in fifth grade, I created my first magazine. It was called — don't laugh — Fun Day. (But really, when you're 10, every day is a fun day.) I had a few loyal subscribers, and I felt like I was on top of the world. Beyond the cookie recipes and homemade quizzes, the magazine was full of photographs. For $1 a subscription, I mailed off the magazine each Friday, thrilled that people would hold in their hands something I created.

I'm classically trained as a photojournalist and received my education at the Missouri School of Journalism. My passion for content creation, picture editing, digital marketing problem solving and is as strong as ever.

With my background as a both a strategetic digital marketer and a creative content creator, I'm thrilled to take on new cilents for anything in my wheelhouse - social media management, copywriting, copyediting, digital strategy, social-first and campaign photography, and more.

I've created content for a story about roadtripping on Route 66 for National Geographic Traveler, created content for campaigns and social media for the team behind Beechers Handmade Cheese, and photographed restaurant stories for The Tasting Panel magazine and Clever Root. I've been hired by Thrillist to photograph James Beard-award winning Seattle chef Edouardo Jordan of Junebaby restaurant for their article on Best New Restaurants of 2017. 

I currently lead social media for the world's largest digital food brand, Allrecipes. I turn my passion for digital media and communications into memorable content that drives consumers to take action. Flexible and adaptable, I write content, shoot photos, plan campaign strategies for paid and organic content, copyedit, and solve complex problems that maximize investment.

Formerly, I was the staff photographer and photo editor for a media group that produces three lifestyle and business publications in the greater Seattle area: 425 Magazine, South Sound Magazine and 425 Business. I documented life, food, culture and business in the Puget Sound and every day was (and continues to be!) an adventure. 

I also worked as the photographer and photo editor at TulsaKids Magazine, an award-winning parenting publication in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Prior to that, I worked for four years as a photographer at Mizzou Magazine, the alumni magazine for the University of Missouri. I was also a staff photographer and photo editor at the Columbia Missourian. I've been recognized by the Scholastic Arts competition, and the Oklahoma State Superintendent's Award for Excellence in the Art and recently was named a Kodak Professional Photography Scholar by the Missouri School of Journalism.
